The rhythms of Burston Central University life are barely disturbed by events which might cause considerable concern in ‘the real world’. Funding under threat. Risky recruitment practices. Megalomaniac bosses. None of this has any significant impact on the daily life of university staff.
So what is preoccupying them? Quality of research? Student feedback? No. Kettles, committees, and car-parking, mostly.
